Lisa Jacobs is the part of the management team at LDE. Working closely with the Managing Director, Lisa’s vast range of administrative and managerial skills ensure the productivity and efficient operation of the business. Lisa also has significant experience in logistics, including the management of a geotechnical drilling company.   

Rebecca is a senior office administrator at LDE. With a NZ Certificate in Office Systems, she has a good grounding in professional office management and administrative support. After 16 years of experience in many varied roles Rebecca’s position sees her looking after the day to day running of the LDE office. Rebecca has a have strong customer focus with a desire to see the best job done.  Returning to Gisborne with her husband to raise their two children has been great for the family and seen her branch out into many new sporting fields.

Anita forms part of the office administration team providing administrative support to the team. 

Having attained a BSc in Earth Sciences and Geography from Victoria University of Wellington Shay has made the move back to his hometown to put his keen interest in the environment, geology, geomorphology and engineering design to use. Shay has quickly gained valuable experience in the industry, taking part in a diverse range of projects throughout the Gisborne and Hawke Bay regions as well as further afield and getting involved in land damage assessment and geological cross-section development following the 2010 Christchurch earthquake. Shay also has an interest in music and electronic music production and spends his weekends travelling the country as part of a DJ group.

Ben Perry is a New Zealand Chartered Professional Engineer practicing in the Civil and Environmental areas. He has attained a Masters of Science degree in Physics, and a dual Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics and Applied Physics (honours). His experience specialises in low-impact subdivision design, construction management, and stormwater analysis. His general science background and diverse studies offers clients a unique perspective to difficult engineering problems, providing practical and cost-effective design alternatives.

Blair is a Geotechnician who is proficient in site investigation and testing skills allowing the LDE team to provide a quick and efficient service to LDE’s clients. Blair also played an important role in the mapping of lateral spreading in Christchurch for the Earthquake Commission and Canterbury Earthquake Recovery Authority (CERA) following the 2011 earthquakes, and has also undertaken Land Damage Assessments for the EQC. This has given Blair immeasurable experience in the processes of liquefaction, lateral spreading, and earthquake-related damage.

James forms part of the LDE team employed by the EQC and Canterbury Earthquake Recovery Authority (CERA) to assess land damage and map of lateral spreading following the 2011 Christchurch earthquakes. In doing so has gained significant knowledge in processes of liquefaction, lateral spreading, and earthquake-related damage. James is also part of the LDE team undertaking geological modeling of the Christchurch areas affected by the earthquake for the EQC and CERA. His love of skiing lead him to become a professional ski instructor in the early part of his career. He has since completed his Bachelor of Business Studies in Economics and Bachelor of Science in Earth Sciences at Massey University and now lives in Gisborne with his wife and three children. James is passionate about all aspects of geology, including fault line identification and stratigraphic interpretation of geological data.

Valintin is a civil engineer at LDE with a Bachelor in Mathematics as well as a Civil Engineering Degree. His background consists of bridge and road construction with experience in project management. Valintin’s role at LDE includes the processing and interpretation of electronic cone penetrometer test (CPT) data, as well as geological modeling of the areas affected by the Christchurch February 2011 earthquake. This includes modeling of the central business district of Christchurch for the Canterbury Earthquake Recovery Authority.

Ben is an engineering geologist and forms part of the LDE team undertaking the geological modeling of the areas of Christchurch affected by the 2010 and 2011 earthquake events for the Earthquake Commission and Canterbury Earthquake Recovery Authority. Ben is also skilled in site investigations, especially in relation to slope instability in complex terrane. Ben has extensive experience throughout the north Island, including the Waikato and Northland regions.

Joel forms part of the geotechnical team at LDE. Originally hailing from Canada he made the move to Gisborne in 2004. After attaining a BSc in Earth Science and Geography at Massey University he joined the effort in the mapping lateral spreading in Canterbury following the 2011 Christchurch earthquake events. Through this he has rapidly gained experience in lateral spreading and other earthquake-related processes. Joel also plays a significant role in assisting with the data interpretation and geological modeling of the areas affected by the earthquakes. In addition, Joel has been involved in a variety of geotechnical projects around the Gisborne region where he is utilising his interest in geology, geomorphology, coastal processes, and engineering. Joel also has a keen interest in surfing, camping, and fishing, a combination perfectly suited for the East Coast lifestyle.
